Roughly .5 to 1 page explaining your research needs and how you plan to collect original qualitative data to meet them.
1. What do you want to find out? How will your results shape your project overall? In short: explain the relevance of this data collection to your project.
2. The mode of collection: how will you collect this qualitative information? One-on-one interview(s)? Small focus groups? Open-ended questionnaire? Who will you invite to participate? Case study? Observations? Explain.
3. The means of collection: what are the details to your qualitative data collection: who will you interview,? If you’re using an open-ended questionnaire, how will you distribute it, and to whom will you distribute it? How long is the period of time you will spend collecting the data? etc.
4. Explain your plans for analyzing and presenting the data.
Our research was done through a questionnaire provided by members of the team. some questions were adopted from survey monkey. The questions were then distributed to college students at universitie of Bridgeport, UCONN and southern Connecticut university via social media.
An interview was done with a young man who experienced mental health and youth delinquency. He was eventually sent to juvenile detention center and subsequently incarcerated to an adult facility.
The aim of the survey was to find out how young people feel about the handling of mental health in youth and how society treats them as delinquent youths. The results yielded a majority believing that their situation and that of others are vastly misunderstood.
