This is a relatively short and straightforward research report (technically literature review) that covers risk assessment and importantly ergonomic solutions including automation, re-design, and organisational arrangements, contextualising some of the challenges of implementing the solutions. Critique the ergonomic solutions proposed including any potential challenges of implementation. You may wish to consider the solutions under the following headings: • Load (eg baggage). • Task (eg posture/position, pace and lifting equipment) . • Individual (eg competency and abilities). • Environment (eg a brief note of more/less challenging aircraft parameters/design). Identify the ergonomic solution, the issue it is proposing to address, the impact when implemented, and any potential challenge of the implementation. Previously you had carried out a DSE risk assessment at her workplace and you both had noticed some preferences to specific software visual settings. This prompted her to have an appointment with her GP and optician with subsequent tests confirming a very early diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Discuss the organisation’s responsibilities in relation to health and safety immediately, and also with a future plan for the medium to long term.
