There are health laws that protect patient privacy when it comes to health information and use of technology. Before engaging in this week’s discussion, watch the TED video titled The five laws of cybersecurity (Links to an external site.). Either write a well-supported post or prepare a 2-3-minute audio/video recording based on the following:
Discuss the potential benefits and challenges of using healthcare technology.
Describe impacts and concerns this technology might have on patient privacy. Include any state or federal policies which are attempting to regulate the matter.
Next, provide a current example of a current event (within the past 12 months) in which healthcare technology was abused or violated the law.
Explain the event and the outcome.
