My study is organised in 2 sections
In section one I compared results to see differences between international students and local or home students in the United Kingdom in three different aspects 1-mental health measured through a combined score on the phq9 depression scale and gad7 anxiety scale) 2- loneliness scale 3- questions on help seeking.
Here is how my study questions and objectives was formed
Study 1: Investigation in mental health among international students in the UK
Research question 1a: Are there differences in levels of CMDs between UK, EU and overseas students, controlling for socio-demographic variables (Age, sex, ethnicity, financial difficulties, level of study).
Hypothesis 1a: There will be evidence for an association between international (overseas and EU) student status, and symptoms of CMDs after controlling for the following sociodemographic variables (age, sex, ethnicity, financial difficulties and level of study).
Research question 1b: What role do loneliness levels play in the association between exposure status (UK, overseas and EU student status) and CMDs? This will further adjust models for loneliness levels as a confounder (using the UCLA loneliness 3- item version), after controlling for socio-demographic variables (Age, sex, ethnicity, financial difficulties, level of study).
Hypothesis 1b: International students will have higher levels of loneliness than UK students. After controlling for sociodemographic variables, adjusting for loneliness levels as a confounder will reduce the magnitude and strength of the relationship between international and EU student status and CMDs. This finding would suggest that observed differences in levels of CMDs may be associated with higher levels of loneliness in EU and overseas student groups.
Research question 2: How do levels of help-seeking behaviors vary between UK students and international (EU and overseas) students?
Hypothesis 2: International (EU and overseas) students will have lower levels of help-seeking after adjustment for sociodemographic variables (Age, sex, ethnicity, financial difficulties, level of study) and the influence of loneliness and CMDs as confounders. International students (EU and overseas) will have lower levels of help-seeking behaviours than UK students.
And i am already done with this part in terms of analysis and report
I need your assistant in the second section of my study. In this section I will be using the same scales i used in section one but this section will involve only Saudi Arabian students in the UK
here is what I intend to do
Section 2 part A : ( i need to connect) I want you to some how connect this part to study one can you generate a study questions , objectives and hypotheses based on that. You can decide what ever connection way you think will give this study better outlook and good transention to a more soasific category of international students which is the Saudi arabain students. Wthether by comparison/ exploration or to or any way you think is best.
section 2 part B: ( I need to add executive function scale): on top of the previous questioners I will add a questioner about executive function which is Executive Skills Questionnaire â Peg Dawson & Richard Guare
. as i mentioned in this section this is only for the Saudi Arabian students as I did not give tis scale to participants in section one
So I need you to also generate questions, objectives and hypothesis for this part connecting mental health, loneliness, help seeking and executive function. Again in the best way ]you think will benefit the study overall and create good flow and transition between the sections 1 and 2 A and B
My study is organised in 2 sections In section one I comp
