Students will use the Client Case for this assignment, (2.F.7.l).
Students will describe how they conceptualize the client through the lens of at least one counseling theory (integrative conceptualizations are encouraged, such as cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, behavioral, humanistic, developmental, holistic/integrative, etc. ) (2.F.5.g; 2.F.5.n)
Students will then develop a treatment plan for the client. The treatment plan can use the Client Case as reference. Please see the rubric for a breakdown/details to include. The treatment plan must include:
1.- Developmentally and culturally relevant counseling treatment or intervention plans (2.F.5.h)
2.- Evidence-based counseling strategies and techniques for prevention and intervention that are consistent with the student’s theory-based conceptualization and that may represent integrative practice (2.F.5.j; 2.F.5.n)
The length of the paper should be 5 pages. The conceptualization should be well thought out and a thorough analysis of the client’s case. The purpose of the paper is the explore the client’s case thoroughly, with concise and focused analysis.
Criteria
Diagnosis: Clearly and Accurately Stated.
Diagnosis: Rationale for dx is provided including a list of diagnostic criteria met as gathered from assessment.
Conceptualization: Accurately implements at least one theoretical lens.
Conceptualization: Describes how the presenting problem is clinically understood.
Treatment Plan: Includes developmentally and culturally relevant counseling treatment or intervention plans
Treatment Plan: Goals and interventions are aligned with conceptualization.
Treatment Plan: Includes evidence-based counseling strategies and techniques for prevention and intervention.
