Week 1 Journal Entry: Your Writing Practice and Challenges
In this first journal of the semester, please reflect on your current writing practice and share what challenges you face related to professional writing.
First, describe and reflect on your current writing practice by answering the following questions:
How much time do you typically spend each week writing?
Where do you write?
How do you choose what you write?
Do you “binge write” periodically for long periods of time? Do you “snack write” by writing small amounts in small amounts of time regularly? Do you “ninja write” by squeezing in brief writing in between other tasks and meetings? Or do you do some combination of these?
Do you wish anything were different about your writing practice?
Finally, describe the most substantial and frequent challenges you face in professional writing, including challenges related to productivity and technical aspects of writing.
