The journal article review gives the student an opportunity to read, analyze and summarize the peer reviewed journal articles and issue their personal perspective- while still using critical thinking. A few questions to ponder while writing your articles would be:
Your reference should be APA- text should be in italics, omit page numbers, and should say Boston, MA, not USA.
What do you identify as the key issues/findings noted while reading the material?
How relevant is the reading to your work as a future clinical/counseling professional?
What are the ethical implications of practice raised for you, (if any) after having read this material?
The reviews should be written in time new roman theme, a minimum of 2 full pages full double spaced content pages,12-point font size and the journal reviews should follow the following template:
Page 1: Title Page (Name, Date & Name of the Assignment, i.e. Journal Article Review # 1)
Pages 2-3: Two-Three pages of content
When summarizing, remember to consider utilizing the above questions to ponder; focus on the general points and logic of the articles.
In your analysis and comments, mention a couple of things that you specifically learned from reading the article.
Issue as part of your summation, your brief personal reactions to the article.
Discuss in your review, if you learned something from the article, if you didn’t learn anything- indicate that as well.
