The focus of this paper is on the social and cultural influences in your life. The student will submit a paper which describes the social and cultural influences having shaped his/her lifestyle and career choices. Implications of those influences for the student’s role as an advanced practice nurse should be identified. This paper should be appropriately cited and APA format is required. This paper should be no longer than 6 typed pages (excluding title page and reference page). A little information about me. I have been a registered nurse for almost 7 years. I am currently working as a cardiology nurse practitioner in an underprivileged area. Primarily seeing Spanish patients. My parents immigrated here to the US from Colombia. I was born here in the US. My Spanish roots have influenced my career. I try to promote healthy lifestyle and disease prevention in the Spanish population. As far as my social influence I am 28 and very active. I workout 5 times a week, practice yoga and eat very healthy. The society I live in has influenced me to be very health conscious. Living in south Florida I tend to do outside activities to stay active. I try to incorporate this healthy lifestyle of staying active and promote healthy eating to my patients. Especially cardiology patients. Dealing with heart disease, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Overall, I would include how my Spanish culture and my social healthy lifestyle society has shaped me into a cardiology nurse practitioner.
