The DNP capstone assignment was designed as a way to demonstrate achievement of the eight Essentials through completion of a practice change project. Your project has implications in many of the areas addressed in the Essentials, including policy, advanced practice nursing, and information systems/technology. These implications impact local, state, and national levels. 1.) Please post the link to at least one policy website that aligns with a policy implication of your project. As course members read your post, they should visit the policy website you have listed.
2.) In list format please identify 1 item for each Essential that you have learned while doing the project. Then, next to that one item identify an implication. In the end, you will have identified at least one implication your work has using each of the 8 Essentials. 3.) In paragraph format, formulate a discussion of the major implications you identified (not the item that you learned or merely what aligns ). Incorporate quality and safety, and EBP into your discussion. Implications are suggestions or recommendations for how to use what you found/learned through the project to advance nursing. Implications are NOT an analysis of your work to see if what you did aligns with the Essentials. Revewing the implications section of some of the articles you used in chapter 2 (literature review) will be helpful in understanding “implications”.
Example-Findings of a research study included that nursing faculty spend a great deal of time trying to balance all components of their work and personal life. The implications are that academic administrators should allow for flexible work schedules and they should create family friendly policies that allow for faculty to more effectively balance all components of their lives. The implications are directly related to something that was learned through completion of the study.
Example 2-When conducting a review of the literature specific to a clinical problem, the nurse determines there is a gap in the published evidence. While the literature includes research about fall prevention in the elderly, there is little about fall prevention of the post-operative client. Therefore, the implication is that more research is needed to fill the gap in knowledge.
Again, you are not to analyze your project using the Essentials as a guide. You are to identify an implication for each category addressed in the Essentials.
