The attached document highlights the benefits of the Affordable Care Act’s Medicaid expansion initiative. In addition to improving access to care, overall health and financial security were improved for a number of sub-populations. In spite of these benefits which 39 states have taken advantage, there still remain 12 states primarily in the southern part of the U.S. who have chosen not to become involved in the program.
