The growing demand for global health suggests that increasing educational and training opportunities in the field and research and increasing the number of dedicated global health research and training can contribute to building capacity in global health.
The solution to current and future global health problems will require a highly-trained public, private and non-governmental organization, successful efforts to address emerging global health challenges will require the coordination of global health training, surveillance, research, and service, and the argument from many scholars is that the lack of sufficient workforce or training in global health will cause these tasks to lack accomplishments.
A historical event that is important in todayâs global health is the discovery and invention of vaccination to reduce epidemic diseases, accordingly, Edward Jenner is considered the founder of vaccinology in the West in 1796 after he inoculated a 13-year-old boy with the vaccinia virus ( cowpox) and demonstrated immunity to smallpox. In 1798 the first vaccine was developed, historically vaccine has made a tremendous contribution to global health, two major infections smallpox and rinderpest have been eradicated, and since the expansion of the WHO immunization Program of 1974 and of the Global Alliance for Vaccination global health coverage has been enhancing, and polio has also been eradicated.
Due to the global health historical event of the discovery event of the vaccine, the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19 that has affected the world, and claimed the lives of so many people, adequate training and research methods did bring the development of a Covid-19 vaccine to help with the containment of the virus.
