Literature Search 5% • Identify the key pieces of your literature search (. key words used, databases searched and other literature sources searched, number of results and limiters used to narrow search) • State the rationale for your chosen article • Refer to your articles using APA format, stating author not title • The article chosen must be peer reviewed and published within the last 10 years Article Summary 10% -write half a page per article • Summarize each article in a separate paragraph • Identify the study type, the main focus/purpose of the article/study/population used; method; key ideas; findings/conclusions • Summary should be brief but thorough Analysis 20% What are similar things the author from both article are saying, and what thing that are different • Analyze the key ideas/findings from the two articles by discussing possible relationships and similarities. Contrasts the differences in the information presented in the two articles you are analyzing. Nursing Interventions/Application Each intervention is worth 10%!!!! (40% in total) -NEEDS TO BE SPECIFIC, AND SPECIFIY CLEARLY HOW IT GUIDED NURSING PRACTICE. Need to articulate step by step what exactly you’re going to do You need 4 interventions • Identify 4 key nursing interventions with appropriate application for caring for surgical patients • These nursing interventions should be guided by key ideas/findings from your two chosen articles; support each key idea with citations • This section should specifically guide or direct nursing care for a patient and should be referenced. • Utilize other references to support your nursing interventions and application such as peer reviewed nursing journals and nursing textbooks (You may reference your classes at UFV as per the APA guidelines) • The section of nursing interventions you identify can be any area of perioperative nursing; pre, intra, postoperative but need to be relevant to post op nursing care. Conclusion 10% • Summarize your paper in a paragraph; include key findings/conclusion.
