Getting Started
Neurology and pain are very broad topics and encompasses many disease states and MANY medications. For this assignment, we will again work in groups.
Upon successful completion of the course material, you will be able to:
• Identify common neurology/pain problems and create a care plan using pharmacological and non-pharmacological agents to care for the patient.
• Answer questions associated with each case.

Instructions
1. Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.
2. As a Group, answer the following questions:
. What problems can you identify with this patient?
a. What subjective/objective information in the case supports each of those problems? Please list only information that pertains to each problem under each problem.
b. What is your assessment and plan for each problem?
. Provide pharmacological and non-pharmacological care (don’t forget to be specific). Will you discontinue any medication that the patient is currently taking and/or add any new medications?
i. Include your therapeutic goals for each problem (use the subjective and objective information listed above to help you)
ii. How will you monitor each problem and each medication included in your plan?
iii. When will you suggest following up with the patient?
iv. Is there any laboratory monitoring that will need to be conducted to assure the safety of the patient?
3. Designate one group member to post answers to your assigned case in the discussion forum below by the end of day five of this workshop.
4. All group members will receive the same grade for quality and timeliness since this is a group assignment. The interaction grade will be based upon each student’s individual interaction with the group and subsequent discussion forum.
5. Individually respond to at least one other group’s posting by the end of day seven of this workshop.
