Reflection Essay #1: Viewing Biblical Characters through An Attachment Lens
Choose a character or family from the Bible (Old or New Testament) and identify issues, relational pattern, and behaviors from an attachment lens. Assign an attachment style(s) of the character or family based on information from the Bible (early beginnings, relationship issues, commitment, and behaviors described in the passages). Use attachment theory to back up your assumptions, and briefly describe what you would recommend (can be both spiritual and counseling-based) to help this person or family build a more secure attachment, improve emotional regulation, or meet personal/relational goals. Note: Jesus cannot be your example as he is the perfect attachment figure, but any of his disciples may be used. Reflect what it was like to view biblical characters through the lens of attachment.
