After reading the article, create a flowchart of the sequence of steps in the process related to the QI problem that you identified. In order to create a comprehensive process map, you must understand the process. If you need more information about the process related to your identified problem, discuss the process with your leadership mentor. Address the following questions in an initial post to the discussion forum, attaching your flow chart to your post: Identify the problems or bottlenecks in the process related to your problem. Identify steps that do not add value to the process, such as unnecessary forms or work, duplication of steps, time delays, or common breakdown in communication. Identify one or two problems in the process where you can focus your solutions for improving the process. After completing the flowchart, does this cause you to narrow or change your QI Problem? Why or why not? After making your initial post and sharing your flow chart, read several of your peers’ posts and review their flow charts. Respond substantively to at least two of your peers’ posts. Be sure to address all criteria, questions, and prompts listed in the instructions. Use APA style for the in-text citation. The references do not need a hanging indent. Respond to two peers by offering new perspectives, additional steps, or problem areas and encouraging further discussion and critical thinking.
