Purpose Statement
This project aims to minimize fall complications through the use of inflatable safety belts on patients with dementia in SNF settings. Managing a patient with dementia through inflatable belts is crucial in promoting general patient wellbeing through nursing practice. The practice provides essential care through the well-informed decision on inflatable belts to encourage the patient’s general well-being and quality of life.
Chapter 3 of the DNP Project Report. This scholarly paper will discuss the DNP project’s design in the DNP Project Report template format. **** templet format will be uploaded.
Assignment Criteria:
1. Begin with the Chapter 3 introduction and the purpose of the project
2. Include the following information with level headings:
3 Design of Intervention and Methodology (level I). State and explain the design methodology for conducting the DNP .Will be “convenient sample”. Patients entering SNF for rehab purposes.
Descriptive Quantitative Method. How many falls resulted in complications/fractures. Falls vs Injuries
4. Planned Intervention Implementation (level I). Provide an outline of everything involving participants that occurs after IRB
approval. Include enough detail so that any researcher could replicate your study from your description. The outline should include: a list of the steps in their chronological order and their frequency; specific details about the tests given and/or treatments used; and how long the participants will spend completing the different steps. If different groups of participants
receive different treatments/ procedures, provide a separate outline for each group. Attach only graphics or pictures referenced in the protocol steps.
Patients screened upon entering skilled nursing facility. Qualifications: Age >75, cognitive Impairment -Dementia. Informed consent signed by family.
5. Expected Outcomes (level I)Patients who wore safety belts, resulted in Less injuries as result of falls. No hip or pelvic fractures.

7. Sample (level I; description of sample) Patients entering SNF for rehab >75yrs old and has cognitive impairment -Dementia Ideal size 25patients, however for the purpose of this research will be 2 patient due to luck of budget for the belts.
• Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria (level II) inclusion age >75 must be entering SNF for rehab and have Dementia.
• Determination of Sample Size (level II) Describe how the required sample size was determined. Based on that I’ll be able to purchase only 2 safety inflatable belts. Due to each belt price. Only available in Europe for sale at this time

• Recruitment Procedure (level II; also include a recruitment flyer attached as an appendix) Flyer that explains and advertises the safety inflatable belts.
