Investigate sex differences in emotion regulation, by collecting data using a previously published questionnaire for which hypotheses will be required (questionnaire already administered and collected the data) Additionally determine whether two facets of emotion regulation ( cognitive reappraisal and expressive suppression) are related, i.e., correlated. For which no hypothesis will be required. Prepare a lab report summarising your findings, the format of which will mirror the format of a standard journal article. Data analysis from questionnaire will soon be available by tutor. Once available import the data into jamovi software and write up results as a standard lab report. RESEARCH QUESTIONS: Is there a sex difference in emotion regulation and are the two facets correlated? You will hence need to perform two t-tests to determine if a difference exists (one for cognitive reappraisal and one for expressive suppression)-consider the data and the hypotheses and select the appropriate test e.g., paired, independent, etc.. and implement this in the appropriate way. It would also be useful to obtain effect sizes to include in your report. Next a correlation needs to be performed on the data obtained for the two facets; you should report Pearson’s r and state the association p-value. (You should not need a hypothesis for the correlation) Report word limit- 1400 words this excludes: the title page, the abstract and references section (and any figures and accompanying captions).
