Into two modules. They are:
1. Let’s have a discussion about effects of environmental correlations – the process by which genetic factors contribute to variations in the environment (as presented in Chapter 2).Post an example of one of the following, and describe why it fits into that type:
a) a passive genotype-environment correlation.
b) an evocative genotype-environment correlation.
c) an active genotype-environment correlation.
Your post should be 1-2 paragraphs long and should provide your unique perspective in several sentences. Don’t worry too much about being ‘wrong’ in which type of correlation you identify your example with. There are multiple perspectives on this, and your written description gives us an understanding of your thinking is most important. We all can share our ideas in the reply posts.
2.Write a letter or create a simple brochure/booklet, that would provide valuable information for a woman that plans on becoming pregnant. The goal is to outline the basics of what she should and shouldn’t do to increase her chances of having a healthy pregnancy experience. Make sure your tone is friendly, supportive, and not too scary sounding, yet based on facts and research. Make sure you address each topic listed – but do it in a way that is engaging so it is useful and not ‘boring’ to the reader.
maternal and paternal factors (such as age, health, illness or infection, etc.)
maternal nutrition and physical activity
maternal mental/emotional state (such as stress, depression, anxiety, etc.)
outside influences (environmental teratogens)
prenatal care (including genetic testing)
fetal development
The content is what is really important, so don’t spend too much time on the format. You can get your information from our text (Chapter 2) although it is suggested you also do some simple research to learn even more about each topic. Be sure to cite your sources, meaning include a reference to any direct quotes, paraphrase or summary from books, articles, internet, etc. that you use to learn more and create your assignment.
