Which organization would you seek out to identify standards of care for your clinical specialty area?
Where would you go to find these?
Determine which organization sets standards of care for your specialty.
Why is it important for you to know and understand the standards of care?
What are the components that comprise a negligence suit?
How do these components reflect nursing practice (i.e. duty, standards of care, damages, etc)?
How do ethical principles (beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, justice) apply to negligence cases?
