The question lingers about why the WHO would be inclined to impugn the character and reputation of the healthcare available in the United States when an argument can be made that the rest of the world needs a free market American healthcare system and the discoveries and innovation of U. S. entrepreneurs and researchers, as described by Dr. Atlas in Chapter 6, that arise out of it.
Would an accurate portrayal the quality of healthcare in the United States pose a threat to the popular acceptance of socialized medicine abroad considering the significant taxation necessary to support it and the relinquishment of autonomy, freedom and access that necessarily accompanies it? What do you think?
