CHCPOL003 Assignment 2: Article critique. (template) Identify one (1) area within Nursing that you can research for the purpose of improving your own practice and meeting set learning goals. You will need to complete the following: • Identify your research objectives for one area in which you would like to improve your practice. • Conduct a literature search for relevant information for the purpose of meeting your research objectives. • Referring to the information you found in your literature search, use the approximate word counts as a guide and complete the assessment template. Write your research objective or a hypothesis about your research outcomes. 2. Critically search and review available research-based literature. (approx. 150 words). Choose a research article to critique for the purpose of your ongoing professional development. Please include the following: a. Database used b. Search terms or key words c. Number of results obtained d. How did you narrow the search? e. What filters did you use? f. Why did you choose this article over the others? 3. Research Design. (approx. 800 words). Complete the following for the chosen research article: a. Title. b. Author/s and their credentials. c. What was the identified purpose of the article? d. Describe the research hypothesis. e. Describe the design methodology (is it valid for the research undertaken?) f. Identify the data collection procedure (Is this chosen method appropriate for the research methodology? Is it valid?) g. Is the literature review broad, yet focused (does it fairly represent opposing views? does it reveal gaps in knowledge regarding the chosen topic?) h.
