Please watch the following video in it’s entirety. The short film depicts the true story of a woman who immigrates legally to the United States under “political asylum” as a refugee allowed to enter the US to escape domestic abuse. She brings her son with her under asylum. However, because she did not have full custody of her child in her home country, he is taken away from her and deported back to live with his father in Europe.

To clarify, the film starts out with a scene depicting the main character returning home to her husband after she has lost her son in order to try to see her son again.

The rest of the story is told in flashback about how she escaped to America and her son was then taken away from her and deported to live with his father.
