For the first part of your final assignment, you will build upon your infographic submission in Session 4 (I will include that in the next day or 2) to detail a proposed compassion training program in an infographic format. The second part of your assignment will provide an opportunity for you to reflect on your learning in this course, specifically focusing on your action assignments in Sessions 2 and 3. (I will attach those)
Part One: Compassion Training Program
Based on the components of your submission in Session 4, include the following in an infographic format:
Name of your proposed program.
Setting in which your program will be enacted.
Targeted participant pool (counselors, nurses, pastors, college students, volunteers, etc.).
Main focuses of your program. Provide a one- to two-sentence purpose statement and at least three main focus principles.
Length of program (e.g., four weeks, two months, etc.)
At least three proposed activities or assignments (journal prompts, group work, etc.).
Integration of biblical perspective. Support the structure of your program using Scripture. (NASB translation only please)
Plan to measure impact and effectiveness of your program.
Include an APA formatted reference page for citations used in your infographic with your submission to support your ideas and plans for this program.
Part Two: Reflection
In a three-page paper (not including the cover page and reference page), respond to the following questions:
When entering this course, what did the words compassion and suffering mean to you? (I will include that in a word document titled session 1 discussion)
What do they mean to you now that you have completed the course? (You can go off of my word document as you see fit here)
Reflect on the action assignments. What did you learn? What might you have done differently? How did the results influence your motivation to show compassion in personal and professional living?
How will you specifically integrate compassion training concepts into your field of employment after completing this degree program?
Create three action steps for action in compassion that you will take in your personal or professional life after completing this course. Include a plan for monitoring your progress.
Examples:
I will visit an elderly relative at least 1x/month.
I will ask my colleague if she needs help with tasks at least 1x/week.
I will spend 20 extra minutes with my children each evening without technology.
I will take at least one step each week to care for myself (e.g., relaxation activities, healthy meals, exercise).
I will monitor progress through journaling and charting my actions.
Cite the text and relevant Scripture in your submission. In addition, cite two to three academic journal articles to support your statements, goals, and ideas. As this is a reflection paper, you may use the first person.
