For Qualitative Assignment 2 you are required to present a research report of a Thematic Analysis (Braun and Clarke, 2006) of qualitative interview data. You will be supported through the process of collecting, transcribing and analysing your data, which will be generated through an in-depth semi-structured research interview. The research will investigate how gender influences the personal and social dimensions of pain, and how men and women understand and talk about painful experiences.
The guidelines for this assessment and all supporting resources are available in the ‘Qualitative project (assignment 2)’ folder under ‘Additional resources. All stages of the project and the format for the report are outlined in these guidelines. You will need to conduct and record a semi-structured interview – all of the ‘research documents’ you need for data collection are available: participant information sheet, consent form, interview schedule, debrief form. Resources for transcription and thematic analysis are also available in this folder, along with hyperlinks to relevant literature.
