Create a 7 slide voice-over powerpoint/ or an adobe presentation on any health initiative that you feel is important to patients’ health.
It must have a voice
Be clear and concise to convince your colleagues that your initiative is important (there are endless initiatives too). As a reminder- You cannot use previous work from another course.
Examples:
NIH discusses Mental Health Across the Lifespan initiative. This initiative seeks to raise awareness about issues affecting women and their families throughout the lifespan, including mental disorders such as postpartum depression, and issues that can impact mental health, including bullying and aging. This initiative has two goals:
Educate and raise awareness about bullying, postpartum depression, and successful aging through targeted outreach efforts in undeserved communities.
Reinforce the importance of recognizing the signs of mental illnesses, and of seeking help and treatment from health care providers.
Other examples: Alzheimer’s disease, spiritual wellness, racial disparities, emergency preparedness, vaccines, and suicide prevention. Try to be creative on this assignment ( too many students do strokes and post partum depression so avoid these topics )
Use of scholarly references should be on your end slide. Support your statements (includes opinions), use proper APA and respond to one colleague’s post.
Use of course readings and viewings to support your points is required. Outside sources support are encouraged.
E-portfolio- Once graded and edited, this power point post can be added to your Wix Portfolio under Outcome 6. Please write a quick introduction for it when you add it there.
