Getting Started
Infectious disease is a broad topic, encompassing many medications and many different disease states. This discussion assignment will help us to learn about all of the different classes of antibiotic and antifungal medications.
Upon successful completion of the course material, you will be able to:
• Identify anti-infective medications that treat various infectious processes and are effective to eradicate different bacterial pathogens.

Instructions
1. Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.
2. Navigate to the Types of anti-infective medications threaded discussion and discuss one of the following anti-infectives [including common medications in the class, potential mechanisms of resistance (if any), potential pathogens covered, need for dosing adjustments (renal/hepatic, if any), notable differences within the class (if any):
