After reading one of the two articles chosen by the professor (LINKS BELOW), students will complete a reaction paper. **If students would like to do BOTH articles, they may. (Maximum 16 points total)
This is your space to react to the reading, question the results, apply them, challenge them, or otherwise process them as you are thinking about what they are discussing. Do not merely summarize the reading!! Instead, write about your reflections on the reading, ask thoughtful questions, identify areas that need clarification, comment on topics that sparked your interest or that you disagreed with, describe instances in which you find yourself applying the reading in your everyday life, etc.
This paper is where I get peak into your thoughts and you are able to let your creative and critical thinking have free reign!
I have provided some examples below of what may work for your reaction paper. (These examples should NOT be used in your paperâ¦do your own work, use your own thoughts!!!!)
-I was interested in what the writer said about ______. This data surprised me because_____
-I had an experience of what they mentioned in the article, it taught me ______.
**The paper should be at least TWO FULL PAGES OF TEXT (per article read). 12 point, times new roman, double spaced, 1 inch margins. No bullets, Full sentences/paragraphs are expected. The amount of points you receive will be based on what you give meâ¦the more you give (well-thought out opinions, relevant questions, relating it to real life situations, critical thinking) the more points you will receive. This does not mean that you should hand in a long paper for extra point, you are being graded on the CONTENT. Quality > quantity.
