COVID -19 Vaccinations was my topic that got approved by my instructor. You can choose any community you can find statistics on that’s based on a 1 mile raduis. Preferably based in New Orleans, La. I attached the Project part 1 INSTRUCTIONS PDF. Begin preparing to submit Final Project part 1 – please review the rubric carefully! Note that the assignment should be between 2-5 pages in length (not counting title and reference pages). You will need to provide a description of your community – include demographics, mortality and morbidity rates, and describe your community as if you are telling a story (paint a picture of the community with your words – what do you see?). Use data & statistics to support! Search the CDC website, your state Dept. of Health website, etc…. for supportive evidence. When you write in a formal paper that __________ is a “hazard” or “health risk”, but do not have statistical data to support – this now becomes an opinion (technically – your opinion). Health Professionals make decisions and implement programs based upon facts (data) – not opinions. Everything we do must be data-driven. For example – if you say obesity is the #1 health risk for your Final Project – then provide those statistics. It is inappropriate to say your visual observations identified obese individuals without providing more factual evidence (researched – data). What is he obesity rate in your city/state? compared to the nation? What is the average BMI? What are health risks identified by your state related to obesity, such as diabetes and heart disease? For example – if you say teenage pregnancy is the #1 health risk – what are your state/county/city pregnancy rates overall? pregnancy rates for teenagers? Does infant mortality or maternal mortality relate to this? What are those numbers? In summary – show the data. Provide the evidence. Public health is not opinions – public health can only be based in facts. Identify your #1 health risk (hazard) – reference the windshield survey conducted. Describe your goals – based upon the identified health risk – make sure they are MEASURABLE, achievable, specific, and are time limited. Outline your plan/interventions – make sure these will help you meet your goal What is the anticipated impact of your interventions? Remember your APA formatting – please be sure to use first-level headings (Centered and Bold-Font). Use the rubric as an outline. Failure to use headings will result in point deductions per the rubric. The paper should be written in third person as a formal writing – do not include “I”, “me”, “my”, etc…. Use appropriate language – do not use contractions (. don’t, can’t, etc…) in formal writings. Do not use slang terms or jargon. Write in a formal, professional tone.
