After answer the DB reply to two other people and agree or disagree and why.
First person: Piaget’s concrete operational stage was ages 7-11, he believed during this time children were well into their schooling and their cognitive development explains why they can handle multiple tasks required in school. He believed they had more flexible thinking which allowed them to meet their demands in school. It was called the concrete operational stage because they are able to operate mentally on the environment, especially with concrete materials. A good example of conservation is pouring water from a short thick beaker into a tall thin beaker. This may confuse younger kids thinking the taller one has more liquid but older children can mentally pour it back into the short beaker using flexible thinking and see nothing has changed. Piaget believed that when children had to think abstractly that’s when they fall short. Thinking outside the box or a higher level would be more difficult. An example of this would be to not throw stones in a glass house, children would say they might get in trouble or it might break. But as adults using abstract thinking we know that this means if we are vulnerable don’t  attack other people if at fault. Children ages 7-11 will look at it in a concrete way and not thinking outside the box.
Second person :
Thes are the years following the preschool years. These are the years of organiztion and intergrating skills previously learned to help them with more complex tasks. Children are more aware of themselves. At this time children are able to employ logical thought processes with concrete materials, people, or events. Also they are not as easily fooled as they were in the previous years. I loved the example from the video with the pouring of the liquid into different tubes, showing how there was no change in the liquid. That all tubes hold the same amount of liquid despite the appearance.
An example that i like to illustrate the concept of conservation. is a child having a nightly routine. Being able to put things in order. Starting with having dinner- Bath time- Brushing teeth- putting on lotion- Pajamas- Story time- sleep. I think thats a wonderful way to see there growth in their deveolpment from a conservation point of view.
