Self Reflection Paper: “What I know about the Healthcare System in the United States”
As future healthcare administrators and managers, it is important to take a few moments to reflect on what you know (or don’t) about the healthcare system we have today.  In a 4-5 page essay discuss what you know, believe, do not understand, what you would like to know about our current healthcare system. There is no right or wrong to this assignment, it is a way for you to take a moment to put your thoughts on “paper”.  Below are some topics you should reflect upon in your writings. 1)Our healthcare system has many avenues of healthcare funding such as Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, Third Party insurance (either self-funded or employer-provided), and Self Pay, most citizens know little of any of these. How about you? 2) Have you, or someone you know, ever had a good or bad healthcare experience, and has that influenced your feelings about our healthcare system?
3) As a consumer of the healthcare system today, what are your views on the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)? Do you believe the Affordable Care Act has improved or hurt the healthcare (not system) of Americans?
4) As a healthcare administrator, what do you think of our healthcare system (not healthcare) in the United States?
