In order to complete the Program Proposal, you will need to do research. One of the more useful tools in conducting research is an annotated bibliography (AB). An AB combines the citations found in the References list at the end of documents in APA format with annotations about each of the sources. For this assignment, you will construct an AB based upon a the health issue I have selected and will attach files of my previous work for. Purpose: An annotated bibliography is an organizing tool that is helpful when working on a research project. An effective annotated bibliography is used to compile research sources in one location and provide the researcher with quick access to the information contained in each source. the annotated bibliography will consist of the sources that you have deemed relevant to the topic I have selected and/or question(s) of inquiry. While you may encounter sources that are not relevant or do not fit the scope of your project while researching, for the purposes of this assignment, only include the sources that you find useful and relevant for the paper, and its relevance to the paper’s topic. (I will attach two pdf’s with my project topic and information of the data, please use to enhance knowledge about this assignment and furthermore write/ do the research upon it)
1. Cite the source in proper APA format (see example docx attached). The citations should be organized in alphabetical order by author just as in an APA References page. 2. Follow with a brief annotation that summarizes the source (approx. 3-5 sentences). You may quote from the source, but do not copy and paste the abstract. Ideally, all of the annotation should be in your own words.
3. Additionally, in 1 or 2 sentences, explain the source’s relevance and importance to your issue. Some guiding questions to help your Internet search:
How significant is this health condition?
What causes this condition?
What is this health condition linked to (genetic, behavior, or environment)?
Who is more affected by this health issue?
What is currently being done to address this condition nationally, statewide, and locally?
What health education programs are being done with the health condition topic?
In what innovative ways are researchers addressing your health issues?
Specific Guidelines
Find a minimum of five sources on your topic – these will be the best sources to support your topic, so that means you will likely have to review at least twice this many.
For the five sources – Only two can be web sites, the other two should be scholarly peer-reviewed articles from EBSCO.
ONLY use APA citation and formatting.
Sources focuses on your narrow issue or question of inquiry.
As you write your annotated paragraph include both a summary of the source AND an evaluation of the validity of the source and its usefulness. Paragraphs should be in full sentences 100-150 words long.
Summarize the content of the source – be descriiptive and specific.
Evaluate the accuracy and validity of the source.
Describe the usefulness of the source.
Correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling
