Since there are specific rules for how the presentation needs to look like(see directions below) Please provide a word-for-word scriipt that I can read. I will be presenting online in a zoom meeting. I am not too worried about the specific amount of pages of the scriipt but if you can try to stay in the range of 10-15 mins of when you read it in a steady tone. Please tailor the presentation information to be for california, more specifically los angeles/orange county. This is for a mental health class in nursing school.
You can also include a short youtube video to include in the presentation., this counts for the time needed as well. I would like it to include the signs to recognize like: body language, no eye contact, emotional state(feelings of hopelessness, checked out, etc), means of doing it, do they have a plan, im sure there’s a list somewhere. If they do then 911 needs to be called. Talk about passive and aggressive suicidal ideation. Please talk about what happens after 911 is called. I believe it is a mental evaluation team that shows up, it includes a psychologist and a police officer for safety. Please speak about how the patient is assessed, what criteria they are going off on and that they need to be placed on a hold if they are a danger to themselves or others or gravely disabled. Please speak about what happens in 51-50 and 52-50 holds. Please speak about therapeutic communication that can be used with these patients and any other insights you might think of. Since the directions she gave are broad please just try to include the nursing process to of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating. There is a lot of room for you to take the reigns in this assignment. Please speak about one or two drugs that can be relevant for this. The vocabulary can be simple and casual as long as it includes all the information, I would like for it to be personable. Here are the rest of the instructions from the professor. OBJECTIVES:
Each student will be required to do a 10-15 minute presentation on one of the topics suggested. Objectives for the assignment are as follows:
To learn about and explore on mental health topic in-depth
To facilitate leadership and public speaking skills
To practice leadership skills in public speaking and group dynamics
To obtain detailed knowledge about topics of interest
To practice research skills
To share learning opportunities with classmates
DIRECTIONS:
3. Research your chosen topic using your text book, and Nursing Journals, you will be the expert on this topic Feel free to use any other pertinent resources for your topic, such as, community agencies and literature/pamphlets, personal experience, etc.
4. Make PowerPoint presentation following the 6 x 6 rule.
6 x 6 rule for PowerPoint presentations is: on each slide no more than 6 bullets with 6 words per bullet. No reading of your slides, have a scriipt prepared when speaking to your slides. Include references on the last slide.
5. Feel free to show a you tube video, or use additional learning tools,
6. Plan to lead the group discussion about your topic. Ask questions through your presentation, have your classmates involved, ask 3 NCLEX type questions at the end.
REQUIRMENTS:
1. Provide an overview of the topic, giving statistics about the problem
2. Be sure to address the nursing process. (Assess, Plan, Implement, Evaluate). The nursing process will not fit into all topics. Ask the instructor for references.
3. What nurses must know to be effective when dealing with your topic?
4. Include any information about medications and classes of drugs that may be used for clients with your selected topic.
