Time Management Assignment
Using your original data from your time management assignment during Week 1, you will engage in the tasks
listed below. Use the keys provided for you to manage your data, complete the assignment and submit your
work to the instructor or via Canvas Assignment Manager. There are instructions for completing your graphs
below each table, in addition to the more complete, step-by-step instructions in the “creating a graph on line”
supportive document under this week’s Module. Also, use the “examples for creating tables” supportive
document to help guide you in creating your frequency distribution tables.
Task 1
You will complete a frequency distribution tables using your 5 tasks as the x-values.
1) x- values = the 5 tasks that you spend the most time doing
2) f = the frequency of engaging in each task
3) cf = the cumulative frequency of engaging in each task
4) % = percentages for each task (round to at least 2 spaces to the right if your calculations do not result in
whole numbers)
5) c% = the cumulative percentage (round to at least 2 spaces to the right if your calculations do not result
in whole numbers)

Task 1A
Using the data above, create a bar graph. Your 5 tasks should be placed on the x-axis with frequencies on the
y-axis.
(EXTRA: There are many different ways to create a bar graph on your computer. A bar graph can be
created by using graph applications on Word. However, I found a nice web site directed toward kids that
help you to create a bar graph quickly & easily! http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/index.asp. You can copy and
paste the graphs into your assignment, or you can choose to forward them to me via email. Make sure
that your name is somewhere on the graph so I know who’s graph it belongs to. Have some additional
ideas to help your classmates? Let them know on the Discussion Board!
Task 2
You will complete a grouped frequency distribution table using segments of time as your x-values. Use the
table provided for you below to record your data & complete your calculations. Be sure to review the “rules” for
creating and developing a grouped frequency distribution table!
1) A grouped frequency distribution table of the 24 hour period (remember your rules about constructing a
grouped frequency distribution table) So, your x-values will be “time” or “hours in the day,” such as
12:00 – 1:59, 2:00 – 3:59, etc..
2) f = the frequency of engaging in all 5 of the tasks for each class interval (time segment)
3) cf = the cumulative frequency of engaging in all 5 tasks for each class interval
4) % = percentages for each task (round to 2 spaces to the right if your calculations do not result in whole
numbers)
5) c% = the cumulative percentage (round to 2 spaces to the right if your calculations do not result in whole
numbers)

Task 2A
Using the data above, create a frequency polygon with your class intervals (time segments) on the x-axis and
frequencies on the y-axis. Make sure to review the “rules” regarding frequency polygons in your Class Notes!
You may also use the resource indicated above (http://nces.ed.gov/nceskids/index.asp). There are additional
instructions within your “create a graph on-line” document to help you “begin” and “end” your line on the x-
axis.
Go back & check the following:
1) Did you put a % symbol at the end of all of your percentages?
2) If you encountered values that are not whole, did you round to at least 2 places to the right of the
decimal?
3) If you forwarded your graphs to me, did you put your name somewhere on the graph?
