This paper includes methods, procedures, results, discussion, and an appendix for the study conducted. This is part 2 of 5 papers.
The study is based on affective forecasting. Recording participants’ emotions and expectations before and after completing anagrams.
Hypothesis: Participants in the condition of high expectations will report lower satisfaction than participants in the middle condition, while participants in the low expectation group will report higher satisfaction than those in the middle and high expectation group.
Independent variables:
Expectation groups
Low, Middle, High.
Low: participants were told the average person can solve 2 out of 10 anagrams
Middle: participants were told the average person can solve 5 out of 10 anagrams
High: participants were told the average person can solve 8 out of 10 anagrams
In reality, only 5 out of 10 anagrams are solvable.
Dependent variables:
Part 1: Assessing anticipated emotion before completing the anagrams.
Part 2: Completing the anagrams.
Part 3: Assessing the change in emotion after completing the anagrams.
Hypothesis on Satisfaction: compare Part 1 question 4 vs Part 3 question 9.

You should include four appendices (charts), one for the demographics information, one for the chi-square, one for the first dependent variable (an ANOVA is required), and one for the second dependent variable (An ANOVA is preferred, but a t-Test acceptable)
I will be attaching the SPSS file. SPSS will be needed to open the Study 1 SAV. file. The SPSS file has all the data gathered for the study. If you need more information please let me know.
