Scenario
You have recently been hired as a lead consultant for the University Medical Center. You have been working with the quality team and the Chief Quality Officer (CQO) on a long-term plan to improve patient satisfaction. The most recent survey results showed a 5% decline in overall patient satisfaction. Based on a review of the survey data, slow response time to call buttons ranked highest in terms of the source of dissatisfaction among patients. The team has decided to prioritize the management of call button response time to improve the patient satisfaction rates. In addition to improving patient satisfaction, decreasing the call button response time can support operational efficiency goals and can ultimately have a positive impact on the bottom line of the medical center. The long-term plan will be reflected in best practices, which will be implemented. Your project has almost come to completion and now it is time to summarize your improvement plan to the CEO.
Instructions
Write an executive summary to the CQO regarding best practices to improve patient satisfaction survey results. Your summary should include:
One model of quality improvement as it relates to decreasing call button response time.
An explanation of how the model will lead to an increase in patient survey response rates.
Several strategies to engage both patients and healthcare staff in the quality improvement initiative as this new model is implemented. The strategies should include ways to increase patient satisfaction.

I am going to begin this review with formatting issues.
This is supposed to be in format of an executive summary. An executive summary addresses the following:
Preparing to Write an Executive Summary
It is important to keep in mind to whom you are writing your summary. Your audience may not be versed in the technical language of your profession and may only focus on specific business needs.
The executive summary should address these main points:
Purpose
What is the point of the document? Are you trying to influence management? Are you trying to make a change in a hospital? Make sure you have a purpose when writing the summary.
Problem
What issue needs addressing? Why is it an issue? Why are you where you are?
Problem Analysis
What can be changed or improved?
Results of analysis
What did you find while researching the issue? What methods did you use? How do you know your resources are valid, reliable, and credible?
Recommendations
What can you do to address this issue? How will you achieve your recommendations? How will this help? What action can be taken?
Writing the Executive Summary
Keep in mind that the executive summary is the first thing your reader is going to see and may be the only thing your reader will look through before making a decision about action or inaction. Be sure to use concise language and bullet points to present your ideas. Here is an example of a way to organize your summary:
Define the problem, need, or goal
Define the decision that needs to be made
Define the expected outcome and provide the reasons why they should choose the option that you want
Define the solution and how you reached the solution
End with a call to action
Remember, your summary should grab the reader’s attention. Lay out why this is so important and how it will benefit/impact them and/or the business. Be sure to use language that relates to them and avoid any technical jargon.
Common Mistakes
An executive summary is NOT:
An abstract
An introduction
A preface
A random collection of highlights
An executive summary is a stand-alone document and should make sense without any other information. You will want to avoid these common mistakes when writing your summary:
Do not get too lengthy or wordy – keep it to 3-5 pages
Do not cut and paste information
Avoid excessive subtitles and lists
Do not get too technical
Do not use passive or imprecise language
2.You need to separate out items onto their own pages. You have content with references and content on the title page.
3.Your reference dates as noted (2013) are too old, if they are correct. I don’t understand why you have it listed as 2013 since the page (for example on your first reference has a copyright of 2022. You will want to go back and check that.
4.You have a whole paragraph without intext citations. You need at least 1 in each, remember in scholarly writing, you can not say anything without a reference. Also, if you have an intext in the middle of a paragraph, you need one at the end to tell your reader where the rest of the information you stating came from.
Since you have referencing and intext citation issues I am awarding a “2” in each category since I can not appropriately check your sources and since you have a 2013 date on a website that should be 2022. Also, check your reference format as some is incorrect and be sure your links are live. Click here for more help with APA with the APA toolkit.
Some work on this one, but a good foundation overall.
