Society is a mirror – but how does it effect you?

We tend to only see what we spend the most time looking at… I know that sound stupid – but we create expectations based on observations of our environment. I spend the majority of my time with academic types. My best friend is a retired Dean, my wife is a director of curriculum and instruction, most of our neighbors work in academia (our new neighbors who just moved in are retired professors from the east coast)! So – most of the societal influences that I have are based on the academic culture and not really on popular media. WHAT if you only watch one source of media? What if you only listen to one side of things? What if you have never looked at fact checking web sites?
Society as we call it is the influence of the world on us – and its trends and twist and turns really shape the way we behave. WHAT ARE THE CURRENT TRENDS – WHY ARE THEY POPULAR?
for example – #deviouslick (2021) 🙂 Try to use the vocabulary from the class to explain WHY!! Conformity – Group think – social facilitation – and group polarization are all great terms to use for this discussion.
