Conduct a participant or non-participant observation of the group while it is performing a specific task or set of tasks (e.g., hosting a club meeting, engaging in a strategy session, conducting an exam review, enjoying – or not enjoying – family dinner, etc.).

Take detailed notes of the observation.

Compose a summary of the observation that includes:

The date and location of the observation

A clear description of the group, namely, its purpose, membership and key characteristics

A comprehensive yet concise overview of what is observed, identifying inbold at least 10 terms found in Chapter 11 (e.g., prejudice, conformity, social norms, etc.). For each term, paraphrase its definition and explain its relevance to the observation.
