I’m a therapist that creates treatment plans and accomplishes interventions for clients that suffer from grief & loss. Below are the objectives of the course. Please share my thoughts on the hopes & goals I have for this course.
Course objectives below
1. Students will be able to identify important themes in depth and existential perspectives on death.
2. Students will be able to describe important themes in approaching death and loss in a culture different from their culture of origin.
3. Students will be able to demonstrate the ability to critically think about issues related to illness, death, and loss.
4. Students will be able to compare and contrast themes from different cultural rituals, traditions, and myths.
5. Students will be able to formulate an approach to working with issues of illness, death, and loss in a professional context with cultural sensitivity and humility.
6. Students will be able to assess the cultural sensitivity of different strategies to working with individuals facing death and/or loss.
