Explore a cultural/ethnic/religious group’s end-of-life beliefs and practices that are different than your own. Select a cultural/ethnic/religious group that you have or will most likely be exposed to in your clinical setting that you are unfamiliar with.
Selecting a group that you will likely have no future exposure to will not be accepted. If you have question about your choice, please contact me for advice.
Here’s what you will do:
1. Identify a cultural/ethnic/or religious group of interest that is different than your own. Select a topic that is relevant to your future nursing practice.
2. Create a presentation that includes the following information:
-Name of and background information about a cultural/ethnic/ religious group.
Include prevalence(in numbers, percentages of the population), language spoken, religion practiced, common health issues, housing trends or practices, location in the US.
– Identify specific end-of-life beliefs and practices. What do you think about these practices?
– How do these beliefs compare to yours?
– Include nursing implications specific to the cultural group’s beliefs and practices.
– What barriers exist to providing sensitive nursing care based on these beliefs and practices?
– Remember to paraphrase and cite your material in the body of your work using APA format.
– Provide a list of references used at the end.
NOTE: Create a presentation in the electronic format using PowerPoint slides.
