Interviewed each participant who met the criteria based on parental alienation, participant had to be alienated, separated from the child to have experienced Parental alienation syndrome 2. Each participant was scheduled for 3-weekly 45 minute counseling session sessions. Counseling sessions were unstructured interviews with the first session used to build rapport and identify client’s personal strengths. The second session focused on restructuring the relationship between the father and child, therapist will prompt client/participant to reimagine an alternative or positive relationship with the child could be in the future instilling hope for change. The third session focused on utilizing support systems to combat negative feelings or symptoms of depression, pain and anxiety. 3. During session one the client is given homework to identify support systems. During session 2 the client is given homework assignment is for the client to write a letter to the child he is being alienated from and the third session the client is asked to make a conscious effort to maintain contact with his support system and educate the support system about parental alienation. 4. Researcher reviewed the transcript for underlying repeated themes from each participant during the session and coded the responses . support systems, belief for change, awareness of strengths, and desire for fatherhood, hope etc. 5.
