Discussion question: Describe and discuss validity and reliability. Identify the threats to experimental validity. Psychologists evaluate three sorts of consistently: stability throughout time, stability between things, and stability across researchers. Validity is the degree to which the scores from a measure resemble the variable for which they were designed (Price et. Al., N/A). Internal validity risks have been identified as history, age, examination, equipment, regression, collection, experimental mortality, and a threat interaction. When the findings are not statistically significant, threats to internal validity may be a source of extra variation. External validity is handled by defining “inclusion and exclusion requirements”, characterizing individuals in terms of relevant factors, and determining generalizability (Slack, 2001).
