Your fire department has identified child drowning in residential pools as a major risk issue in your community. You have been tasked with designing and implementing a risk reduction program to promote drowning prevention. Interventions included the adoption of an ordinance regarding accessibility of pools that required fencing, promotion of gates with special locking devices, use of personal floatation devices, and education of parents and homeowners regarding the dangers of unattended pools.
