It is hard to just discuss one way to evaluate effectiveness for my project and process change. My outcomes include improved patient satisfaction, improved nurse satisfaction with education and catheter care workflow, improved HCAHPs scores, and decreased incidences of CAUTIs in hospitalized and acute care settings patients. If I had to choose one specifically, it would probably be evaluating nurse’s satisfaction with their workflow. Improved satisfaction for nursing workflow, and indwelling urinary catheter management, are linked to improved patient outcomes and decreased risk of CAUTI occurrence. Results could either be seen through fewer UTIs during the admission via report through our EMR. Case management could also report back findings of patient perception and satisfaction with their care while admitted.
