Discussion I:
Stakeholders When planning a DNP project, it is critical to identify and reach out to the key stakeholders. Stakeholders are defined by the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (2018) as “any person, group, or organization who can be positively or negatively impacted by, or cause an impact on, the actions or activities proposed.” The student should consider those individuals or groups who are invested from multiple levels because they can provide an informed and unique perspective on issues that may have otherwise been overlooked (Moran, Burson, & Conrad, 2017, p. 130- 131). In other words, selecting or mapping the stakeholders helps the student evaluate assets-the values, interests, resources, and power that each stakeholder brings and deploys to achieve a shared aim.
