The topic of my research is about “The Prevalence and Recognition of Delirium in elderly patients admitted in a tertiary hospital in Bahrain”
What we basically did in our research is go to the hospital ever single day and ask patients questions (including there ages, why they were admitted to the hospital, how long they have been in the hospital for,
Please write for me ONLY the DISCUSSION part of the research.
I have attached PDFs of the data collection (there are 5 PDFs attached) >> These are the summary of our data collection of the patients
For example:
In the âgeneral” PDF, you will see the demographics of the patient, this includes there age (for example p value was low and not significant with delirium where majority of them where non-delirious and only 60 where delirious during there hospital admission). There are also scoring systems that we have used to evaluate and intrepret patient if they were delirious; for example SPMSQ, edmonton frailty score, MNA etc⦠pleased read about the scorings and see how they are relevant in our research.
Make sure you interpret the rest of the PDFs. If you have any question, please do make sure to ask me.
I will hopefully add more details for you later tomorrow.
Please do mention the all relevance to delirium when interpreting the data.
Just to let you know, when have excluded anyone below 60 years old from our research, also patients that were in the icu and anyone admitted to obstetric and gynaecology departments were excluded from the research. If you go over the tables in the PDFs, you will see who is relevant and not relevant in the research based on the p value and the odds ratio.
I want you to go over each and every PDF attached and interpret it in the discussion.
Please do make sure that you write the references with there numbers in the discussion part
Below i have provided links for you on how write the discussion. Make sure you go over it.
A p-value less than 0.05 (typically ? 0.05) is statistically significant. It indicates strong evidence against the null hypothesis, as there is less than a 5% probability the null is correct (and the results are random).
The discussion part should have clinical impact and limitation. In other words, please summarise key findings and their implications, interpretations and limitations. Relate observations to relevant study and present status of knowledge. Do not repeat data from introduction or findings from the results section unless warranted. Avoid lengthy literature review. Unqualified statements must be supported by references. Affirm the message¿½ of the paper in the final paragraph.

For the references, please refer to this:
Authors are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and format of their references. Include only retrievable and up-to-date bibliography directly related to the study. Number references consecutively in the order of their appearance in the text. Identify references in text, tables, and legends by Arabic numerals. Unpublished and personal observations are not accepted. Avoid citing conference papers unless published. Journal titles abbreviations should follow the format of Cumulative Index Medicus. In the list of references, include only the names of first three authors followed by et al if more than three. Examples of correct forms of references are:
