8 weeks of Reflective journal writing is very different from academic assignments that you have been writing. Journaling will allow you to think deeply about your learning. Your professor is the only one that has access to your personal journal. You will be asked to reflect on assigned readings or activities throughout the semester. The following are the topics for each week.
Week 1: Current Issue of aging in America
Week2: Patient centered focus care among the elderly
Week3: Patient centered focus care among the elderly part 2
Week4: Challenges faced by elderly including pain mgmt
Week5: Care provided to older patients in a variety of settings and how best to care for these patients as they transition from one setting to the next.
Week6: No journal entry
Week7: Geriatric syndromes affect the functional status and quality of life of older adults. These syndromes lead to increased disability, increased mortality, longer hospitalizations and increased use of health care resources and personal finances.
Week8: Geriatric Syndromes and their impact on the aging adult.
