Re-visit the Canadian social issue that you chose for your mid-term paper.
(I will attach what i had submitted earlier, so you don’t have explain the issue or what was already explained in the previous assignment.
Examine elements of oppression and power associated with the problem, then the necessary measures of empowerment, intervention, and prevention/promotion to transform the impacted community. Describe the policy cycle containing these measures to determine the effectiveness and implementation of the policy.
You need to design a policy on your own (second order change policy) without looking at what exists. This needs to be on your own. And how will this policy be formed, adopted, implemented and evaluated.
Answer the question below mentioned:
Agenda setting – how much do the politicians care about it? How many people are affected by the issue? What is most practical / affordable
policy solution? How concerned is the public about the issue?
Policy formation & adoption – what funding is needed to adopt policy? (don’t worry too much about this)
Policy implementation – what is the best way to implement (grassroots/bottom up/collaboration/topdown)
What is the community readiness? What are the community capacities to carry out the policy? What steps are needed to transfer theory to practice?
Policy evaluation & revision – what are the intended outcomes and what
might be the unintended consequences? How would the former be
evaluated, and the latter be addressed in the next policy cycle?
I am attaching a pic for your reference. It is a a sample paragraph thats written on your own without any references. you can do that in this assignment where needed, eg to explain oppression more creatively . Use imagination so without intext citation and references
You can use as many sources as you want
I am attaching a link for a book which needs to be used as one of the main source
Chapter 9-15 need to be referred
Also i have attached ppts if you want to refer to it
