Overview- The critical assignment in this course (due in Week 8) is a professional presentation on acontemporary health issue. You will choose a contemporary health issue facing the field of public health or healthcare, then research and report your findings in a 25-35 minute presentation. Each of your supportive submissions (1-3) will assist in keeping you on track towards submitting a quality critical assignment presentation. Therefore, I highly suggest looking ahead to the critical assignment requirements and including them into your supportive submissions (and homework), whenever pertinent. When applicable, I will offer feedback on the supportive submissions that should be incorporated into your critical assignment presentation. Instructions- Supportive Submission #1 (3-4 pages minimum) requires you to choose and research the contemporary health issue for your presentation, then provide the following: 1. Identification of the chosen contemporary health issue and why you selected it. 2. An exploration and summary of the chosen issue. 3. A brief summary of how individual and/or public health is affected by the chosen issue. 4. A brief summary of any related current events and/or controversies that make discussion of the issue timely. All written submissions should be academically sound and free of typos or grammatical errors. Submissions must follow current APA requirements, with 1-inch margins, typed in 12-point Times New Roman font, double spaced, and include an appropriate title page, running heads, page numbers, correctly formatted in-text citations and references where appropriate, and be uploaded as .doc or .docx documents.
