Course: PSY BEH 192B—-The Science and Practice of Compassion
Spend some time this week observing your social surroundings. What do you notice about people’s social behavior toward one another? Do people seem attentive and caring, or oblivious, even mean? Take care to note what you see as acts of kindness, however big or small. What do you see as the motivations underlying these acts? Where do these expressions of kindness come from?
Please write a brief essay (450-550 words) reflecting on your observations and analysis. Be sure to reference the course materials from both Week 1 and Week 2 in your essay. While you should include more than 2 citations, you must include at least one reference to a course lecture and at least one reference to an assigned reading. Please see course announcements for information about our requested citation style for in-text references. Note that you DO NOT need to include a reference page.
